He graduated from Turkish Army School as a System Engineer and from Marmara University, Faculty of Law. He received his PhD degree in Defense Management from the Defense Science Institute. He has attended several educational programs in the United States, including a quarter-long guest MBA program at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), California, in 2009.
His master’s thesis focused on “Cultural Differences and Leadership,” while his PhD thesis examined “Agency Theory” and “Corporate Ethics.” He has conducted research on various topics and has published articles and book chapters based on his research. He lectured on “Legal Basis of Military Operations” and “Law of Armed Conflict” at the NATO Partnership for Peace School in Ankara, as well as “Military Justice” and “Management” at the Turkish Army School.
His areas of expertise include administrative law, international trade law, the legal aspects of military operations, human resource management, leadership, cultural differences, agency theory, defense management, and defense law.
After 22 years of military service, primarily as a human resource management and legal affairs officer in the Turkish Army, he retired with the rank of Colonel. He was awarded two NATO Medals for his service in Afghanistan and one European Union Medal for his service in Bosnia, along with several NATO and national education certificates. He has also attended and lectured at several Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC) courses in Turkey, Afghanistan, and Macedonia.
Following his retirement, he began practicing law. He is a member of the Ankara Bar Association and the Immigration Rights Center of the same Association. He continues his academic research in defense management, law, and human resource management, including articles and a book project.
